Lörrach – Müllheim

Lörrach – Müllheim is one of the 299 single member constituencies used for the German parliament, the Bundestag. One of thirty eight districts covering the state of Baden-Württemberg, it covers the whole of the Lörrach district and part of the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district.〔(Constituency boundaries ), bundeswahlleiter.de, accessed 27 June 2014〕 The constituency elects one representative under the mixed member proportional representation (MMP) system. Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 282.
The constituency was created as ''Lörrach'' for the 1949 election, the first election in West Germany after World War II. It assumed its current name and boundaries for the 1980 election. The current representative is the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) candidate Armin Schuster, who gained the seat in 2009.〔(Wahlkreis 282: Armin Schuster zieht in Bundestag ein ), Südkurier, 25 September 2009〕
